Happy Holidays Everyone! In honor of the up coming holidays: Hanukkah starts Dec. 22 Christmas is Dec. 25 Kwanzaa is Dec. 26 And some people might celebrate other things I just thought we should say what we're celebrating and how we plan on celebrating. It's always interesting to hear how other people spend their season, since so many people celebrate so differently. So I'll start - I'm celebrating Christmas. This year I'm going up to Michigan to spend it with my family. The first time in Five Years. I've already had a few smaller gift exchanges with some family and friends down here and tomorrow I'm going to Jeff's dad's house for an exchange there. It'll be nice to spend the holidays with my family for once. In our family we buy a "secret Santa" gift for one of our brothers or sisters. On Christmas eve before we go to midnight mass we open one gift, usually our secret Santa one. Go to Mass, come home and open other smaller gift before going to bed. We're not suppose to leave our room until 7 in the morning. *giggles* My mom wanted to sleep more than four hours and be up at 5 LOL. So at 7 we were allowed to leave our room and open our stockings, but we weren't allowed to wake up mom until 7:30. This year with Elaine... I bet my mom will be up first. LOL Happy Holidays! Can't wait to see how people will celebrate.

I'm "acknowledging" Christmas. There isn't any celebration going on in this house. We're going to church, supposedly.

I'm celebrating christmas.
On Christmas eve the close family (mother, brother, sister and stepdad) will gather around my house, and we usually just chat like we would on anyother gather day, we also let my little sister open one or two of her presents. On Christmas day we all wake up but nobody is allowed downstairs until 8am when we all gather and put on our santa hats to open our presents. And on boxing day I will have the whole family (aunts, nan, grandad, etc) and we have our little christmas party thing (it rotates each year and this year it's my turn). It is also my aunts birthday on the 27th so we giver her her birthday presents then as well. And once all the kids go to bed that is when the adults party starts and I usually spend the next few days feeling sick and recovering.

I'm celebrating Christmas. I'm driving with my mother, father, husband, sister, maybe older brother (younger of the two, Bryan), and sister's husband to see relatives in South Bend. We aren't staying long but I love seeing them.
We have a little tradition, they're all Catholic, where we take these larger sheets of communion wafers with the Virgin Mary on them, approach a family member, say "Merry Christmas", break off a small piece, eat it and then give a hug and a kiss on the cheek. The guys give handshakes. Then we move on to the next family member. They're all Polish too so we have a bunch of Polish cooking. Very good, but I don't think anyone made diĆ³s kifli this year. It is a type of cookie that is sooooo good but will make you incredibly fat. Granted it is Hungarian in origin, my grandmother and mother always made it.

Wow. You all have family gatherings....
I went to Las Vegas and Death Valley, very pricey stuff over there....I almost died a few days before Christmas by going through a closed road (not my fault! Some jerk knocked down the sign!).....so I was very thankful during Christmas.

I spent Christmas cleaning XD and editing! STILL! I'm not a fan of huge family gatherings (nothing against them, I'm just really not used to them, but maybe someday I will be). So I don't mind being alone on Christmas! I got a lot of great things, had Mc.Donalds pancakes for breakfast (XD... Hey, they were open!) and then honey baked turkey breast for dinner because the sales clerk at the Honey Baked Ham store liiiiied to me! I got some cool shoes!! They have red and black ribbon (2 separate ones, so double laces) for laces, they're black with tiny gray hearts and a patchwork design of stars, hearts, and a skull! I also finally bought my pair of shoes for Ally to color! Now I just need to think up the design..... I extended the auction to June 30th (and MIGHT extend it past that, since that day is the start of ComiCon and I'm advertising to 5k people... who might want to participate in the auction, so we MIGHT extend it! Anyone have any thoughts on that?) I'm working on the Human Trafficking website for the Freedom's Chain project and already ordered the book we'll be using... SO FAR, the website is: ravyncrescent.com/school/slavery.html This will be 1 page of the website and I hope to make it much, much longer and display some examples of slavery and organizations, etc... The front page will be like a regular website, probably with an animated flash banner like on predatorturnedprey.com. It'll tell about the project, that we're all concerned about Human Trafficking, so we're spreading the word about it and signing off that we are willing to fight against this crime, that we encourage media attention for the book, that we'll even have a store for merchandise related to this project (IN FACT! I'm actually going to be offering a lot of my promotional material for sale, so those who are responsible for the book can have some great stuff to give out! They'll get a bunch of bookmarks and business cards as well as a Press Release packet that they can give to their local media sponsors (school newsletters, town newspaper, state newspaper, country newspaper, news TV station, etc.) as well as fliers to put up and some pens... maybe a backpack... we'll decide! Anyone who wants to help out with this, PM me!
