Sorry for resurrecting the dead but I am re-reading the book and I think I have found hints of things to come.
Early on Mira is talking with James during the lesson. In it she mentions the year 13BC And then goes into an explanation, However one snagged my attention: Thirteen years usually signifies a great change.
As I was thinking on this I read that the slavery has been going on for ten years as well as anasiean (spelled right?) Persecution. If my theory is correct then in three years a change will be made. The royalty of the town has been converted. The animals have hope. And James is researching for reasons to end the persecution (or something like that) IN the forbidden records on order of the princess.
It all seems to add up that in the sequel (or in thought if the sequel doesn't happen) That a great change will be made in the nature of humanity, (anasiean treatment, or forced servitude).
I sincerely hope that I didn't sound stupid.
Cover:
In hunter's right eye is the comet despair, right? And his left eye is the comet approaching Earth?
I hope this hasn't been posted somewhere else. That way you don't have to answer it again.
Once again sorry to resuredt the dead.

.... you are amazing. Know how long I've been waiting for people to notice that!? YES! The year 13 is VERY significant.
Hunter was 13 when I first "met" him. I was 13 when I got freed from my father's house 13 is the "number of the cat" 13 is the significant year of change!
And yeah, in the story, slavery never really ended. Remember, Hunter mentions "How blind of you to miss what's right in front of you" And YES!! In book 2, 3 years have passed! That's something I was worried would make people go "What? But Matsi was 17.... now she's 20?" or something, but YOU got it!!! Yes, we left off with the 14 year old Princess on the side of good. Now, one thing I wanted Hunter to point out was that sometimes our true heroes aren't the ones in charge. Hunter is a prince, yes, but that's in his old life. Now he's nothing. It's in the theory I hold in a lot of my stories. The Children are Royalty. We start out with more power than we realize, but some evil people will try to take it away, but it is us, the younger generation, that has the power to rule.
And yes, on the cover, the comet despair is on one eye, the earth in the other with the comet approaching!

Am I really the first? I don't think I am, Joshua or someone had to have gotten it before me.
But I'm betting that the next book will pick explaining the what the change is.
Wish you could tell me if the anasians and humans compromise or if Hunter Lives but I'm sure you can't for personal or publisher reasons.

hehehe. Yeah, those are major issues. A compromise seems very unlikely, given what the humans have done, but then there is always the question of "why did they do it" do begin with...

Why Do humans fear Mutants? Metahumans? Genetic imperfects? Clones? Androids? Aliens? (Marvel, DC, GATTACA, Blade Runner, I robot, and Star Trek respectively) Because They fear being uprooted from the top of the food chain. As well as an inate fear of the "unatural," new, or unexplained. It is incredibly feudal but true.
And Unfortunately due to my genetic makeup as genetic technologies improve GATTACA will become "realer" and I will be on the spurned end... so i'm just waiting untill my story is like that of African Americans Pre 1964. It is too close and I'm getting scared.
But see
Didn;t lord Gobiniu, or however it's spelled, develop the weapon?

Most of the humans in the PTP world don't yet know of the possibility of clones, or androids. I imagine a very select few might be afraid of Aliens. They probably would have some books that were written about aliens. As for Mutants, well, they would group them up with the genetic imperfects. People who were born and look... strange. Now, they did not exactly fear these people, it greatly depends on the person. The society as a whole would be more likely to accept someone who had a disability but was harmless than someone who seemed threatening constantly. One thing that was cut was the description of a White Tiger. White Tigers are beautiful, but they BUG me. Know how you get them? Inbreeding. So, I had a white tiger that was developmentally challenged and had quite a few deformities. Like many people now, a lot of people in the book wanted the look of a White Tiger, but you can screw up 25 tigers to get 1 perfect white tiger... so I don't include perfect white tigers. They do fear that, of course, deformities like inbreeding make it hard to live and there is a standard of life issue. You may be born perfect while your older brothers and sisters cannot read/walk/talk/etc. because of inbreeding... people frown upon that in the PTP world because they believe you should not damage others in the hope of gaining something you find to be perfect. And, there was genetic mixing quite frequently. Humans and Anasians would marry... wolves and deer-- it's a balance that would never work without the the work the gods and goddesses did on them that makes it so their kids will be 1 or the other, but there is always the fear of a mix. If a wolf and deer have kids, their kids will be wolves or deer. But the wolves will have deer-like traits and the deer will have wolf-like characteristics, like sharper eyes, the ability to consume meat... But this has been one of those fears that some people who are scientific hold in the back of their minds... people who "know too much for their own good", basically. Those who, despite the fact that nothing has gone wrong in over 1700 years, refuse to believe that it's possible. They refuse to accept it as everyone else has. For instance, when Hunter is found... people aren't screaming or running, he's not put on display in a sideshow (well... he is, once, but no one REALLY cares so it was removed from the book. One of his masters decided people would pay to see him, but they wouldn't because the first few people ran in to see and went "... that's it?") he's unusual, yes, and prized for being unusual (except a few people who fear it, but the reasons for why I'm not releasing and it has nothing to do with genetic tampering). He is New and "Unatural" and Unexplained in that they've never encountered anyone like him, but over all people go "Huh..." stare for a bit and move on. The scientific people try to use him as proof that they're right, the religious... well, are banned in the Valhan after the war. Not allowed to have faith in anything but your king and country and what the books tell you in school... the curious, like James, are actually the few "faithful" who are left. They don't want to go "see, this proves I'm right" they want to go "wait... what DOES this prove?" Why? Simple. I was born with a heart condition and my father told me it was proof that I was a mistake. That it was meant to kill me so the world wouldn't have to put up with me for long. But I had others who said "no" it's because I'm an angel meant to be able to take the pain and the broken hearts of this world and strive through them. Hunter represents that. Depending on the person they'll see him differently, just like in our world. GATTACA is something I've questioned, especially with the recent voting for or against gay rights... I had some people I no longer consider friends stating that "Well, if they're born that way and there is no way to change it... maybe they shouldn't have been born at all". Mh. With the aspergers, I wouldn't be too afraid if I were you, if that is what you are referring to. There are huge movements and autism awareness campaigns and so much that I honestly, truthfully believe they would never try and destroy someone simply because they were not born perfect... too much of a social phopa. Now, I can see them trying to prevent this disorder and I'm OK with that. My brother cries frequently that he wishes he new what life would be like if he were normal and I believe he deserves that, but no one is going to destroy him simply for being this way. And no... he didn't. Remember how Trinity and Hunter talk about who really started the war? Dun dun duuuuuuuun

Yeah I do now (to the last statement.)
Um once again I question your physic powers. I do not recall posting anything about white tigers EVER, but I did make my character (or one of the plans at least) have the appearance of a white tiger.
Perhaps you should skip the author schtick and go straight to epic philosopher? You can really induce profound thoughts and questions it's astonishing.

LOL! White Tigers have always interested me... when I found out how they were made, I got very upset and decided to speak out on it, but the editors thought it made the book toooo apparent that it was activism based.

*laughs* Yes. ALL my stories have activism in them. The webcomic being made will, the secret story I am working on will, What It's Worth does, Mercades Rule does, Jesse's Story does... But there are people in this world who either think Activism has to go too far to work, or who think anyone who does activism has to be a nut-job... or, they get aggressive toward those who do activism because they think it somehow puts them down. They become insulted thinking that someone may be better at something than they are, and life is a big something. Luckily, no one here is like that

I love them, too, but when I read about how you get them... exactly, it is a shocker!!!
Sadly, white tigers aren't natural... they CAN occur in nature, but... they raaaaaaaaarely do. it's not albinism, it's a genetic trait... like... blonde. And tigers aren't supposed to be white, look at where they live. White stands out toooo much!
