*gag* Too many pictures of anime going through my head right now thanks *rolls eyes*
the "v" word makes me cross my legs. no lie. it's one of those words guys my age don't like to hear but can't help making perverted jokes about. Hopefully you understand that sentence because a drawn out translation would be hard.

lol yeah the sponge doesn't seem very effective at all XD . But yeah i still wouldn't go for the temporary surgery thing *shivers* i hate surgery and the fact that if you arn't prepared for the consiquences of your sexual actions then you jsut shouldn't have intercourse period.

Meh, doesn't have to. After all this is primarily about how to be smart about sex. If you're smart about it you won't likely have to worry about that issue at all.

Hm, I dunno. Nothing but abstinence is 100% unless you count oral? It seems like an oxymoron.

So i wouldnt recomend any of that, I am nurce and if i happen to come by anything that might work for you I will suggest it! Oh and having intercorce in the water does not prevent pregnancy, That is a myth. -steals laptop bak- Srrry she liked to ramble like me!!!!! anyway what she said!!!!!

Good points! I'm glad you and your mom can talk so openly about sex! It is a very important part of that mother-daughter relationship and she seems really cool. I also really like how you want to wait until you are married and in a stable part of your life before you have sex and children. My husband and I are going to wait to try until we are a bit more financially stable and such and I think it is a great idea. Even if you are only 12 you're very intelligent and wise. I'm glad she chimed in too. I didn't really know a whole lot about the sponge since it seemed really awkward to me, lol. I didn't think the water would help considering the actual act of getting pregnant is incredibly quick. To Eva's mom: Thank you! I appreciate your advice.

It is a very important part of a mother-daughter relationship, but do remember that we DO need to keep it toned down on this site, since 10-year-olds have been known to visit and their parents may not like it (with very good reason). Eva, maybe have your mother join the site?
Personally, I do not believe anyone under 18 should be sexually active, because, as Ally said, only abstinence is a guaranteed method of preventing pregnancy and until you are 17, your body is not ready to handle a child. Abortions also always have long-term consequences, and I fell very sorry for any girl who has to go through that because they were too young to have a child.
I know at 11,12,13 etc. hormones go crazy! That was my uncles excuse for what he did to me... and I will tell you that the damage done is still not something that has been reversed. The younger you become sexually active, the worse it is when you're older. Not to mention the risk factors involved beyond pregnancy... and even beyond STI's...
There are many websites, such as Planned Parenting's website, has a lot of helpful information on this topic.
Even though this is marked with a Mature Content warning... do remember there will be young children on this site who ignore it, and we have to fear the individuals who will target this forum since it is intended for all ages... as these individuals may be pedophiles or sex-offenders... and we want to prevent any damage they might do before a staff member or myself can ban them or report them to the authorities.
Now! Remember! If anyone on this forum (or ANY forum... or any place online! Or even IRL!) who is older than you starts talking about sexual content... even if it seems fairly innocent, don't try and battle through it or be "mature" and deal with their talk. Contact me, or Ally, or Tiphph. Or, if you're male and feel more comfortable talking to a male about it, contact Robin. If it is IRL, we'll help you get it handled. On another site, we can handle that, too, as we can go to the admins or higher if needed. Even if it's in a chatroom or email, tell us if you are not comfortable telling your parents.
Ally has done a HUGE service in spreading this information. And since my fan base s mostly 20+ right now, we of course welcome it! But for those of you who this is too mature for you, don't feel bad! I highly respect the girls and boys under 18 who are mature enough to realize they don't need sex to be happy/mature/whatever, there are better alternatives. Your work with activism, Eva, already proves you are far more mature than most girls your age!
Ally, all the sudden I'm seeing birth control commercials CHANGED! Now they are talking about side affects and when not to use these pills... Instantly, whenever I see them, I am reminded of the warnings you've posted! I imagine they may have something to do with why the FDA now demands edits! SO THANK YOU!

Yes! I applaud anyone who wants to wait to have sex. You don't need sex to be a good person or to have fun! And many props to the people not willing to give into peer pressure too. I noticed that too! I actually laughed out loud at the new Yaz pill commercial. It would be nice to think that I had a little hand in it but I'm not sure how far I can reach.

my mother made me get the ONE LESS ONE O.N.E. L.E.S.S shot and it hurt so frekeng bad AND it looked like a grouse purple pimple, it was sooo grouse the doctor popped it! it was sooo nasty Oh and my mom considering her health problems isnt aloud on the computer for more than 5- 10 minutes per day. Also the arthritis in her hands make it very hard for her to type i actully typed that for her because it hurt her so bad. Yeah and i just met my boyfriends older brother and we talked about a bunch of random stuff and my boyfriend, jack said Bro are you a virgin and he said Duh and its so cool because hes 18 and i think hes a good role motel because he is very responsible and he treats his brother very well and when i met him, it was kinda like he made me into his lil sis. it was really cool. further mom let me ask my mom if she has anything to add! -mom talking- Maraazly There is a method mostly used by teens, but still Depo-Provera you can get it in your arm or your buttox every 3 months and it will prevent pregnancy ( i think i didnt read the whole artical i didnt have time) Depo-Provera is not something that many teens have heard of, but it is one of the most effective birth control methods out there. Basically it's a shot that a girl gets once every three months, in the arm or buttock, and starting about 24 hours after you get the shot, you can't get pregnant. The effectiveness is amazing - it's not FOOLPROOF - but it works as good as the pill if you religiously get your shot every three months. It works by fooling your body into thinking you're pregnant - because you can't get pregnant when you're pregnant, if that makes sense to you. Your body stops producing eggs. It's also great because, unlike the pill, you don't have to remember to take it EVERY day. There are a couple downsides to Depo - it can cause a little bit of weight gain - I'm talking like 2 pounds a year or something like that, but if you give up a dessert here and there you can totally combat that. Also, the spot where you get the shot is really sore for a few days. Lastly, you eventually stop getting your period. Again, if you're pregnant, you don't menstruate, so same with Depo. Some people consider this a God-send, and in a way it is - who LIKES getting their period!! But, I was on Depo for about a year and a half, and I didn't like not getting my period because I would get pregnancy panic attacks and so every month I would buy a pregnancy test and take it just to make sure. It depends on your personality, I guess, but overall, it's a great method. That was the artical -eva has keyboard- so yeah its better than a sponge... also i dont think not having your period is permenent you can ask your doctor if its something that you would like.
