SO!! As many of you may know from the E-Mail, we are now allowing members to post stories so long as it follows a few strict guidelines.
1. It must be SHORT. Take no more than 1-2 posts to complete.
2. It cannot be fanfiction. Or fandom of any kind. Even a story that is simply "based in the world of" is not allowed. We don't have anything against this type of media, we simply favor the idea of original fiction and we do not want arguments from fanbased that we have no say over. And no, we do not currently allow fanfictions of our original fictions, either.
3. Allyson and Ravyn probably will not read it.
4. If your story is activism based, DO YOUR RESEARCH! One of the reasons so many anti-trafficking groups get angry about "slave stories" is because they are often wrong/misleading/ done by someone who will write a story but obviously not do more than that to help the cause. These things tend to hurt the efforts we have set forward as just an ounce of incorrect data can make people ignore the cause (as sad as it it). We suggest simply promoting PTP if you want to use a story to help the cause! Because it's already been proven to work in a safe way! HOWEVER! We do promote the idea of stories that speak out against animal abuse and child abuse so long as the writer does proper research (no wikipedia. Use references that major universities will allow, such as the library, dictionary.com, etc.) Animal Abuse is a major problem and since PETA, whose public image is primarily negative now, is the main representative, I definitely promote others trying better alternatives.
5. Please note, that the story MUST be pg13. Note that we have a member who is 12 years old and will probably get plenty of children her age joining, too. While Ravyn's primary fanbase is 20+, and the stories are Teen Fiction, PTP was written for ages 10 and up.
6. You are more than welcome to include pictures and links, so long as they follow rule 5.
7. Do not steal from anyone... on this forum, off this forum, etc... you might be surprised how much the people on this forum read. It's not likely theft will unpunished.
8. Keep in mind that stories put on this board are not copyright simply by being here. Allyson and Ravyn's all are because they have gone out of their way to obtain legal copyrights on them. It is suggested you get your story copyrighted in some way before posting it here. The cheapest way that has proven to work, it so print out the story or save it in some way that is beyond the computer, and mailing it to yourself. Once you have it back from the post office, do not open it. As long as you do not open it, even a little, you have proof of when you wrote it since the post office post-dates things!
9. Ally and Ravyn may add more rules as they see fit. They do ask that people sway away from writing in their specific Genres since, even though they won't be reading most stories, they want to make sure there is no issue later with someone assuming their idea is too close to another persons idea. If you have questions on this, feel free to ask here, of course!
READERS! We ask that, unless the writer asks for critique, you do not provide it. If they do, provide helpful critique rather than criticism. If you see a spelling error, tell them what it is and where, that way they cam fix it. Remember, be helpful, never rude! And if they do not ask for help, then respect that.
Anyone is welcome to post their story in the Homework Help section! Consider it English Lit
