Alright! These are just basic rules for RPGs. Rules that must be followed for every RPG on this forum.
Rule 1.) All forum rules must be followed (of course.) In addition, try to post at least once a day unless you leave notice. (I.E. “I’ll be gone on vacation for a week.” “I’m taking my computer in to be fixed, unsure when it will be returned”) In emergencies, thread creators will allow a player to be absent for 3 days before moving on as if they were permanently gone. The idea is that within 3 days a person should be able to get access to the internet somewhere via school, the library, a friend, relative… etc. to post and say where they are and how long before they can post again.
Rule 2.) No RPGing movies, books, games. Original ideas only unless it is a book specifically designed to RPG. (There are appropriate forums for that and I'd rather not deal with the hassle involved.)
Rule 3.) The thread creator of each RPG is responsible for leading it (unless they assign someone). They also have full say over events and actions. If they do not like something, be prepared to change it. Thread starters, you’re also responsible to control God Modding. … No one should God Mode, not even the thread creator unless there is no way around it (I.E. The character had not posted in a few days and has not left word on
Rule 4.) Thread creators have the right to decide if the RPG will be modern day, past, alternate universe, allow magick, allow anthropomorphic animals, etc. I suggest thread starters allow supernatural, science fiction and anthro characters since... well, most of the fans here will be into that stuff given Allyson and my story topics.
Rule 5.) No slavery RPGs.
Rule 6.) If you guys want to use the RPG to make a story and post it somewhere like fictionpress.com, that is fine so long as every person involved posts in that RPG thread stating it's fine with them. Also, everyone involved must be credited.
Rule 7.) No cybering. Keep the threats pg13 maximum. If you’re unsure of something, consult a moderator or admin.
Rule 8.) To join an RPG, first post your in the Character Profiles section with a short bio of your character (or characters). When you wish to join, make sure the thread starter is still welcoming newcomers (thread starters, make sure to state "OPEN" or "CLOSED" in the title). Then post a link to the character bio.
Rule 9.) Only RPG Ally and Ravyn’s work if they give permission. (Currently our projects are still in the works, so none of them are open to be RPG’d. If that changes, this notice will change so keep checking back or PM one of us)
Rule 10.) Thread creators can approve or deny any character they want. It is their choice and they do not have to give a reason. If you feel you or your character are being segregated against, PM me. Do not argue amongst each other; quickly contact a moderator! If there is a moderator online, you can PM them to get a reply quicker, or you can PM me and I'll get back to you once I get on.
The steps for a dispute.
1. Initial complaint is filed by the person who believed they or their character are being segregated against. Including the name of the character(s) and a link to the RPG thread they wish to join.
2. Moderator/admin contacts thread starter.
3. Thread starter gives the moderator/admin the true, honest reason for why the person or their character(s) cannot join the RPG. (Please be 100% honest with us. If you have a legitimate issue with the person or character, let us know. If you are afraid the moderator bringing the issue to you will tell others or judge you poorly, you can contact a different moderator and send them the entire conversation with your reason.)
4. Moderator/admin reviews the complaint and reply. If need be, more questions will be sent to the thread starter and/or the member filing the complaint.
5. Moderator/admin informs the member with the complaint and thread starter of their decision. Most often, we will side with the thread creator. We will often suggest some corrections that can be made for the character to work in that RPG, or suggest a new character be entered. If that does not seem like the best plan, we will try to find a different RPG for the member to join.
