American Express Charitable Giving Project
“Dear Friends of International Rescue Committee, Here is a quick and easy way to help the IRC. American Express runs a charitable giving contest called the “Members Project” that could help IRC fund two great programs – one in Thailand and one in the U.S. It’s simple. IRC has nominated two projects (see below) and needs to encourage people (anyone – not just American Express card holder) to vote these projects to the top of the list. Ultimately five projects will win a share of $2.5 million. In addition to voting yourself, consider forwarding the virtual opportunity to your friends and family. The “voting” process takes about 3 minutes. Refugee Career DevelopmentProviding career development activities to increase job readiness, job retention and earning potential for newly arrived refugees in the U.S. Malaria Prevention for Refugees in ThailandProviding bed nets and other simple and cost-effective malaria control activities to significantly reduce the incidence of malaria among Burmese refugees in Thailand. If you haven’t had the chance to vote and help the IRC receive share of the $2.5 million prize, please do so right away by clicking on the links above (you can vote for both programs). If you’ve already cast your vote, please forward this email to friends.” You see this, guys and gals? I know a lot of us don't have credit cards, but we can still pass this around! If you want the email post here asking for it! I've got it saved in my inbox! You can have it in its original email document to forward to everyone you know who might be interested.
