The darkness hid everybody for a time but there must always be light with darkness. The night was long and it continued on for some more time. Ina knew it was almost time but she still stayed.
Mist stayed where it was forming dew. When she touched the dew, she knew it will still be there by morning. She let it slid off her finger while she slid off into the cover of another tree. This time, she would go when it was time. Morning was almost there. It was almsot time to go.

Bambie did not even look over as she heard the scream. Instead she walked out of the house through the torn off door and headed for the woods.
The night was young, yes, but he ploys for the night were already set up. She had a soul waiting for her and did not want to wait long to receive it.
Swiftly and silently, she headed for the well.

Kyna waited until she knew her aunt would stay asleep before walking back into her room and changing the bulb. She flipped the switch and waited. Still nothing happened. She slowly walked to the window and looked outside. The city was dark... at least what she could see of it was. The power must have gone out. She wondered if it was because of the mist. She watched it on the ground, it seemed to have a life of its own. Out of nowhere something caught her eye. She jumped back and whimpered. It looked like a person, but why would a person be out this late at night in this type of weather? She slowly inched forward and peaked out the window only to find darkness and mist once more. Her heart started to race and she hurried over to the bed and curled up in the covers like it would protect her from whatever was out there. Something was out there... she knew it was... she saw the movement, saw the mist... something bad was happening... at least... she thought it was... or maybe she was just having another bad dream.

Ina made some drawing of random things on the dirt. What would becomeof me? she thought. It was better not to worry so she looked at the mist. What was going on? She hastily clambered down to the mist completely forgetting her own safety and forgetting her own thoughts. Great! Just great! I told myself not to go down and I go down! Real smart! Sarcasm was seeping into her htoughts. The moon was now hidden by the clouds. Light would not come for a while....

Silently the black figure of a dog cut through the mist that blanketed the area, his form hidden and silent. The dog paused, it's nose twitching. The smell of fear was in the air, carried by the mist.
The dog sat back and let out a long, loud and haunting howl into the night.

Ah...He has revealed himself. Ina grinned at the thought. Perhaps the game can finally begin. She stood up and ran. She ran to another place where she knew she would be in danger.

Bambie looked toward the howl and gave a smile.
Found something, did we? Bambie headed back toward town.
Perhaps Karma was right... maybe it was too soon to go in.

The howl made Kyna jump. This wasn't a dream, something bad was happening... Kyna pulled the blankets over her head, "It's not the same thing... this stuff isn't what killed my parents"

Ah, perfect view! Ina smiled at her predicament. Predator turned prey. She was a human, a predator, and now she turned to prey, prey for the dark spirits and the Black Dog and Bambie.
It wasn't the first time she's done something this stupid. It feels good to enjoy the nice breeze surrounded by the mist. Soon it will be time for the mist to shroud the entire town. What a refreshing breeze! Ina always liked the cool air better than the warm air. She heard a noise and walked towards it.

The howl echoed in the night, slowly fading into the distance as silence again descended upon the cursed town.
The shape of the black dog faded into the mist, only to reappear as a shadowy outline on the roof of a house. The cold fog started to grow thicker around the house as the sound of footsteps and claws scraping could be heard within the dwelling.

"Arf!" A puppy ran across the alley when she walked towards it. "AAAH!" She toppled over a pile of crates and was in the middle of a heap. I think I broke a bone! Of course, Ina was exaggerating.
