(This section is appropriate for ages 13+ as there is mention of forced prostitution on minors)
There are more slaves today than at any other time in human history. The argument for why has many please claiming the rise in the population. Of course there are more slaves, there are more people in this world than ever before...
... However, this argument fails for many reasons. For the first and most obvious is that the world now has laws banning slavery, so there should be less, regardless of the number of people. Second, is that this crime has spread across the globe, even into cultures that previously did not have the concept of it. Now, it is true, there has never been a time without some form of slavery... but you have to consider what is accepted as slavery. What we have now is far greater than the poor serving the rich, the weak obeying the strong, or the meek listening to the powerful. What we have now is humans being hunted down.
Regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, wealth, age or anything else. Anyone is a target. You, reading this right now, are a target.
But remember, we shouldn't be afraid! We should be prepared, instead. We should look at this and go "With numbers like this, myself or someone I know will be a victim" and take a moment to consider it. Then you take a deep breathe and go "fine. I won't let it happen."
By using this forum, ravyncrescent.com, readptp.com and the many links provided, you will be prepared to be safe! So read on, learn the numbers, and see how you feel. Don't be scared, there is no reason to be scared, there is simply a good reason to be aware and ready.
We'll start with America. The number here is 14,000 to 17,500 victims added each year. This is an estimate, and doesn't even include the victims who already live within their own borders and remain there. That number may be higher, as they are easy to obtain since America has very few public outcry groups (like this forum) that target America specifically, rather than covering other countries. This is NOT a third world problem.
Statistics can be wrong, though. So we'll check the numbers.

And, obviously, it is here www.ravyncrescent.com/slavery.html
This is the land of the free. This is a country that teaches it's children about slavery, that has entire college courses dedicated to it, that even had scholarships for individuals who may have, in some way at some time, been affected by slavery by being a minority.
And the numbers are that high. Why? Maybe because we are taught that slavery ended, when we should have been taught that it simply went into disguise and now everyone is a target.
So how many slaves are there in the world? No one knows, because it increases by the thousands every year. It is estimated that over 600,000 people are added to the pile of victims world wide. This doesn't mean there are 600,000 total, oh no... 600,000 a year, means in 2 years there are over a million slaves. How long does a slave live? Depends on how healthy they are, how strong, how young they were taken, and if they do not take their own lives. There are slaves who are under a year old, in America. There are newborn babies in the sex trade... used and traded, even filmed and put online by the horrible monsters who have them.
