From time to time, we will have a lot of contests and a thus lot of prizes. Some prizes will all be virtual (capable of being received via the internet) and some will be RL (Real Life). RL prizes will require you to provide an address where the prize can be sent.
I keep addresses on file so that I do not have to constantly ask for a members address if they win multiple times. Under no circumstances will I ever reveal a members address— not to anyone for any reason. Even if another member comes and says “Ally said I could have her address, since I'm mailing her some Copics! But she left before giving it to me and I need to send it ASAP since I've already paid and this is the only time I can do it! She told me you would give it to me.” I still won't give them an address. If it is urgently needed right that second cannot wait or the world will END!! ... I still won't. I'll give you the address to my secretary, Tiffanie Vian, and she'll receive the mail. If you send anything illegal or pornographic, prepare to me in a world of trouble because Tiffanie Vian has permission to open mail sent to her to be sure nothing illegal is being sent. We do not want to pass on mail that is inappropriate/illegal. So, your best bet is not to rely on this forum to get people's addresses. We even suggest members do NOT give them out.
The addresses are stored securely and no one needs to worry about my account/computer being hacked or my address book being stolen. The files are stored on a webhost that I can access from any computer, so in the event of a hacking or theft I can go in through another computer and delete the addresses. Also, if someone does hack the host, they'll have to go through a lot of files in order to find even 1 address. Whenever a person gives me their address, it is sent through email or PM directly to me and only me. No other moderator will ever ask for it, even if I am away. I have a PSP, a DS, a cell phone and a laptop... I have the Internet with me 24/7. Each person can decide if they will allow me to keep their address on file, or if they would like it deleted.
If they decide not to allow me to keep it on file, their address will be printed onto the address label for their prize and then any other copy of it will be shredded or deleted once the mail goes out.
Basic contest rules:
Legal stuff
[li]By entering, each contestant agrees to be bound by these official contest rules.
[/li][li]Purchasing/reading the novel will better your chances in some contests
2. ELIGIBILITY

[/li][li]Winners under the age of 18 will require their parents permission to receive any prizes.
[/li][li]Must be a registered member of the forum with an active email address, winners will be notified via email.
[/li][li]Contestants must participate a minimum of one time during the entire length of any contest.
[/li][li] Depending on the contest, other restrictions may apply
[/li][li]Banned, warned, or suspended members may not be eligible for every contest. Members can lose their ability to participate in contests at admin and moderators discretion
3. HOW TO REDEEM PRIZE
Winners will be notified via PM and email. In most instances, they will be required to supply Ravyn Crescent (ravyncrescent@hotmail.com) with their address.
Certain instances will require a proof of eligibility such as a scan in of a drivers license or state ID. Unless prohibited by law, acceptance of the prize constitutes permission to use the name, photographs, voices and likenesses for publicity and promotional purposes without further compensation to the winners.
4. INDEMNIFICATION: By entering the Contest, each contestant agrees to hold Ravyn Crescent, Allyson Boeckman, The Desire 4 Freedom, its affiliated entities, affiliated advertising agencies or participating co-sponsor/promotion patrons and each of their officers, directors, stockholders, employees, agents and representatives harmless from any claim, damage, loss or injury which may arise, directly or indirectly, as a result of any and all elements of such contestant’s participation in the contest or the acceptance or use of any prize(s) awarded therein.
5. MISCELLANEOUS: The admins and moderators reserve the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the contest rules at any time. The admins and moderators reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Contest or forum rules. The admins and moderators are not responsible for technical telephone or internet difficulties experienced by any person attempting to participate in the contest. Admins are not responsible for the inability or failure of any winner to accept a prize for any reason. Failure to collect the prize (or to be able to travel on the designated travel dates, if applicable) constitutes forfeiture of the prize. If forfeited, the prize will remain the property of Ravyn Crescent. Winners are responsible for the payment of all federal, state or local taxes associated with the prizes, if any. The decision of the admins and moderators in the interpretation of these rules and in case of dispute is final. By participating, persons agree to and are bound by the decisions of the judges and these official contest rules.

*We do not seek to discriminate, but it is a fact that illegal immigration and human trafficking often go hand and hand. People are often lied to in order to convince them to come to a country illegally, often promised visas, and upon arrival (if not before) they find themselves in slavery instead of salvation. Other times, slave traders capture illegal immigrants and threaten them with that county's own law enforcement. They can threaten to have them arrested or have their entire family thrown in jail, their younger siblings taken from them, unless the person does as they say. To discourage anyone from considering residing illegally in a country, I will not allow illegal residents to participate in my contests because I believe too strongly in keeping people safe. I do not care if a person is illegal or not when involved in human trafficking, but I know the statistics show illegals are more likely to become victims so I do this to try and keep people safe.[/size]

Basic contest rules:
- Be kind
- Follow forum rules
- Respect the admins and moderators
- Be prepared to give your address if your prize isn't a virtual prize
- Do not start early, copy others answers, or cheat in any way
- Some contests will require you to have read one of my or Ally's stories. Anyone who has read Predator Turned Prey will have an advantage in certain contests, but we also have many contests for those who have not yet read the book. We also will provide links for places to read a manga/story/chapter for free if it is required in a contest.
- If 18 or under, have your parents permission to participate and submit your address if you win. If you win and your parents forbid you from giving your address, do not go against their wishes, simply speak with a moderator or admin to negotiate your prize.
- Each contest will have a short set of rules for how to play/win. Follow them.
- You must be a legal citizen to your country of residence. Sorry.*
